PlayStation Vita (PCH-2000)_

The second-generation PS Vita is less immediately striking than the original, but it is arguably the easier model to live with. Introduced in 2013, the PCH-2000 replaced the first Vita's OLED display with a 5-inch LCD and made the console noticeably thinner and lighter, dropping the weight to around 219g. The change in screen technology is the main point of debate between the two generations. The OLED panel of the PCH-1000 has deeper contrast and remains a major part of its appeal, while the LCD on the 2000 is less demanding on the battery and avoids some of the ageing issues associated with early OLED panels. Sony also added around 1GB of internal storage, switched to a more conventional micro-USB connector and made several smaller changes to the design. It remains the same Vita underneath, with dual analog sticks, touchscreen controls and the rear touchpad that defined the platform. For everyday use, the slimmer body and longer battery life make the PCH-2000 particularly practical, even if collectors still have good reasons to prefer the original.
